Dan Novak, or DJ Maverick as he is known in the markets/poker/blog world, was born in socially liberal but economically oppressive Canada. As a teenager he moved to Singapore, which was, well, the exact opposite. He now lives in the nanny state known as Britain, where he alternates between his final year studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) at Oxford and trading currencies and interest rates in London for major banks.

Never one to shy away from risk, he continues to play poker, both online and in person, in order to keep himself sharp and ready for the bigger games out there.
